SEx scenes may win audiences over to a glamorous narrative, but the reality is often very, very goofy.
The art of performing sex has been revolutionized in recent years, with intimacy coaches in high demand to choreograph every move while keeping the actors safe.
But the awkwardness that comes with directing a sex scene persists, and most actors will agree that faking sex is one of the trickiest jobs in the industry. And the consequences of embarrassment and nervousness are almost inevitable.
‘Vaginal pads’, modesty socks and, as Paul Mescal revealed, a special body gel to mimic fake sweat, the steamy sex scenes audiences see from the comfort of their movie theater seats don’t are not the reality for those who play it.
Latest TV Hits Euphoria, Bridgerton and normal people have many, many sex scenes. But how do the actors react when they think back to filming the scenes or when they saw them for the first time?
Here are eight scenes that even the actors still cringe at:
