‘Kenan,’ ‘Mr. Mayor, ‘The Endgame’ canceled at NBC – The Hollywood Reporter

NBC completed its renewals, new series pickups and cancellations ahead of Monday’s initial pitch to Madison Avenue ad buyers.

The network canceled sophomore comedies on Thursday Kenan and Mr. Major as well as freshman drama The end of the game. Additionally, the network’s last remaining comedy pilot, Hunger — which has undergone a redesign with modern familyAriel Winter, who replaces Demi Lovato, was skipped.

The rest of NBC’s drama pilot roster – consisting of Blank Slate, Found, The Irrational, Uninterrupted and Mike Daniels’ untitled entry – remain in consideration for off-cycle pickups.

Mr. Major launched during the 2020-21 broadcast season and earned a renewal for the second season after ranking as the network’s second highest-rated comedy of the season (behind only Young Rock). Drama the end of the game, one of the least popular rookie shows of the season, launching in February and ending on May 2 with little fanfare. The trio of cancellations comes at the same time as NBC renews comedies Young Rock (for a third season) and Great crew (for his second).
