Disney reveals the release date of She-Hulkan upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe series.
On the company’s website, the show is listed as premiering on the Disney+ streaming service on August 17, 2022. The show will star Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner’s cousin who becomes She-Hulk after a blood transfusion from Hulk. Actor Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk on the show, with Tim Roth returning as 2008’s Abomination The incredible Pontoon.
This premiere date comes after a report claimed that the series would be pushed back until late 2022, with the possibility of not releasing until early 2023. Just as the case was with Thor: Love and Thunder before the release of the first trailer for the film, we have not seen much of She-Hulk, even if it is months away. Brief snippets of the series aired during the November 2021 Disney+ Day sizzle reel for future MCU projects, but not much else is available at the time of writing to hold fans back. until August.
Some lists of goods removed for She-Hulk gave fans a first look at the new hero’s super suit and appearance in March 2022, as the sizzle reel only offered teasing as to how she’ll appear in live-action. Similar to Wanda Visionepisodes of She-Hulk will only last half an hour each, with 10 total episodes planned for the series’ first season. The show is set to be a comedy series with Walters working as an “attorney specializing in superhuman legal cases”.
Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk first appeared in Savage She-Hulk #1 in 1979, and the character became a fan favorite for Marvel Comics readers. Following his involvement with writer Jason Aaron avengers run, at the time of writing she is directing her own title written by Rainbow Rowell with art by Rogê Antônio. Disney+ She-Hulk will be the first time the hero is adapted for live-action, but she has appeared in animated projects before, like Hulk and the Agents of SMASH
Although She-Hulk appeared decades before her, the next Marvel hero to get her own series will be Kamala Khan in Ms. Marvel. The lead role of Kamala will be played by actor Iman Vellani, although the character’s powers have been changed for the series. Instead of Kamala’s polymorph abilities from being an Inhuman, she will be able to create energy constructs as seen in the series trailer.
While She-Hulk won’t be out until August, Ms. Marvel premieres June 8 on Disney+.
