The Strange New Worlds series premiere is now available for free

Well, it’s a pleasant surprise to launch on a Thursday. Not only do viewers get a brand new episode of Paramount+ Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn & Ethan Peck– featuring Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (S01E02 “Children of the Comet”, directed by Maja Vrvilo and written by Henry Alonso Myers & Sarah Tarkoff), but the streaming service has dropped an extra bonus for those still hesitant to watch the series. Yes, that’s right… waiting for you below is the first episode S01E01 “Strange New Worlds” absolutely free. So what if someone asks for a credit card number, your pet’s name, and the last four digits of your social security? Please don’t give it to them…

So with that in mind, we’ve got a look at what the crew will be up against in today’s S01E02 “Children of the Comet” (directed by Maja Vrvilo and written by Henry Alonso Myers & Sarah Tarkoff) with preview images as well as the preview that was shared during last week’s episode of The loan room:

And in the last episode of The preparation room with the host Wil Wheaton, Mount (Captain Pike) and co-showrunner/executive producer Akiva Goldsman discussed the series premiere and what’s to come, followed by a preview of “Children of the Comet” starting around 11:05 p.m.:

STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS is based on the years when Captain Christopher Pike led the USS Enterprise. The series will feature fan favorites from season two of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY: Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the USS Enterprise as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Mount Anson like Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley / Number One, Ethan Peck like Spock, Babs Olusan Mokun like M’Benga, Christina Chang as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding like Nyota Uhura, Jesse Bush like Christine Chapel, Melissa Navia like Erica Ortegas, and Bruce Horak like Hemmer. Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries, tell me a story) had joined the second season as James T. Kirk. Gia Sandhu (The Mysterious Benedict Society) takes over the TOS role of T’Pring (originally played by Arlene Martel), the fiancée of Spock (Peck). The first in the series was written by Akiva Goldman with the story of Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet. golden man and Henry Alonso Myers serve as co-showrunners, with Goldsman directing the first episode. Goldsman, Kurtzman and Lumet are executive producers in addition to Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, and Aaron Bayer. Akela Cooper and David Perez serve as co-executive producers. Nami Melumad (An American pickle, Absentia) was selected as the composer for the series’ original score. Jeff Russell (Star Trek: Discovery and Picard, Legion) composed the main music and titles. The series is produced by CBS Studios, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.
